I'm noticing a pattern with my journal entries here. I'll make two or three a year, and in each one apologize for my lack of updates. And here I am again. It's true that I've been in an art block for the good part of this year. In fact, since I got out of school and switched departments here at work I've not been as productive as I used to be. Anytime I try to pump myself up and improve my poor art record, I just end up staring at a blank sheet until I decide there's something else to do. Ugh. Even my personal projects for this year have fallen through, and I don't even have a pile of doodles to show. I'm just frustrated with how little I know and how long it takes me to draw even the most simple thing. There are no classes taught around here, and I don't have internet, so I can't take online courses. It's just frustrating to see myself floundering while everyone around steams ahead developing their talents and skills. I want to try, but time, money, and circumstances are against me.
But now, on to other things that have caught my attention. I recently beat "The World Ends With You," and I recommend it to anyone with a DS who likes JRPG's. (I even cosplayed Tenho/Wall Reaper at AWA, and I had a blast doing it.) I've also just started "Scribblenauts"... what a pain in the butt.

On the manga front, I've just fallen in love with "DOGS: Bullets and Carnage." --Great art, cool characters, plenty of action. It sort of fills in the gap since they've stopped releasing Saiyuki and GetBackers. Speaking of Saiyuki, Salty Dog VI comes out towards the end of this month, so all you Saiyuki-tards look out for it!
AWA was wonderful this year! Not only the con, but for the artists, as well, with the new Alley and all. I saw so many DA artists' booths, and I had to buy several prints (I wish I could remember from whom). The cosplays were good, and the con as a whole seemed more mature for some reason. Hopefully, one day I'll be good/productive enough to set up my own table.

On that note, any artists out there have an opinion on what printer I could buy that does at least decent prints? Mine's an old-school HP deskjet, and everything looks like crap that comes out. I need something new and workable.
